I thought I’d never have to face this topic after going through major breakdown myself. 

It’s sad how we barely even talk to each other(friends even family)anymore

Everybody is "fine",lol have you ever wondered how "fine" Is always the right response to how are you? 

social media isn’t even helping,it has a great influence on our minds. You didn’t know? 

Of course, that’s not on google I suppose, every one is glued to their phones 24/7(i’m not shading I’m a victim too)  

When last did you have a conversation like actual communication with your friends? Show them you actually care? 1920 I guess.

 Every year 25 million people suffer from depression and 30% commit suicide.

honestly Mental health is Underrated. 

A little truth? I wrote this in like January lol 

But it didn’t really feel real compared to me tweaking it now. 

So I’m not exaggerating when I say that I know how it feels, really crappy, Sad, unnecessary tears.Yea you’re most likely depressed. 

 I mean I just replied someone with a laughing emoji and I had tears in my eyes lol 

Seeeeeee I said "lol" too wasn’t even funny, point is we don’t text what we really feel most times. 

I’d make a long speech about how "suicide is never the answer" but I think we’ve heard enough to last us for a life time. 

P.s you should see a therapist. 

Does 18 really mean Adulthood?

    Does 18 really mean Adulthood? 

 I’d start with the popular saying "age is just a number" but that’s a bit cliche don’t you think? 

Sometimes age isn’t just a number. No matter how much a child acts like an adult, a child is still a child.  

I  turned 18 and guess what? I didn’t even grow wings! Can you imagine?. As kids We all thought it would be like releasing a bird into the sky once we turn 18. Another thing you won’t really understand till you actually get there, it’s just a landmark you get to with more responsibilities and a clearer view of what life really is about.  

I don’t want it to sound scary for those that aren’t 18 yet, Don’t worry it’s very fun. like our parents say "you’ll understand when you’re 18".

In Africa it’s much different at 18, you don’t get a car or sex education or an apartment of your own 

Instead you get more of "you’re irresponsible" more of  "you think you’re now big abi" and "you better go and look for work" 

It’s no different from when you are 16 or 17 

You’ll grow,no doubt but it’s still same old tricks  

Not really free(although parents differ).

I really didn’t understand what it meant to be an adult and I still don’t think I do but we’ve got forever to figure that out right? Baby steps? 

Here’s the Fun part, you’re only going to be a teenager for 7 years. 

Live life,make friends,break some rules too 

you won’t get a second chance at that.

I’ve always wished I could be a kid again,the always happy and so much energetic version of me,zero worries. Eat and sleep.

I hope to write something about my youthful days someday but till then I’m going to enjoy being a teenager as long as I can. Back to my topic;

Being above 18 means you get legal rights and responsibilities of an adult. Being an adult means you’re fully grown. so tell me,are you just above 18 or are you an adult?💀 use the comment section.
